Money-doubling gang arrested in Ajman

Ajman: Police has arrested two people who claimed they could double money and collected genuine cash from their victims.

The police also recovered black papers and counterfeit dollars from their possession.

Col. Abdullah Saif, Director of CID at Ajman Police, said that they received a complaint from a victim who said that the two offered him to double his money and asked him to pay them Dh 300 for $5,000.

The police collected information that the suspects will sell the fake dollars in a furnished apartment in Ajman.

The police raided the apartment during the handing over and receiving operation and arrested the two suspects W.M.B, an Asian, and Y.G.H, an Arab national, red handed with possession of the fake dollars.

The police also found in their possession three boxes containing black papers which they used in their swindling activities.

The two suspects confessed to their crime during interrogation and were then referred to public prosecution.

Col. Saif asked the public not to believe such claims, and urged them to think rationally about such things so that they don't fall victim to such claims.

“People should think how can a black paper be transformed into genuine money,” he said.
