Friday Market fire in Fujairah guts shops - No injuries reported

A massive blaze that broke out at the Fujairah Friday Market on Saturday evening was successfully brought under control before it could spread and cause more damage.

Though the fire caused losses no human life was lost and no one was injured, according to an ‘Al Khaleej’ report.

The blaze at the market, around 35km west of Fujairah City, gutted more than 10 shops before fire extinguishing squads brought it under control.

Col Ali Obaid Al Tunaiji, Director of Fujairah Civil Defence Department, said the team made strenuous efforts to bring the fire under control.

The shops that were gutted in the blaze sold carpets, vegetables and fruits.
 

Adnoc  Distribution: Fire in Fujairah did not affect service station

Meanwhile, Adnoc Distribution issued a statement to confirm that the fire emergency at the Friday Market in Fujairah did not affect Adnoc’s service station located adjacent to the area.

Adnoc Distribution confirms that there were no damages to the station’s facilities or no harm to its staff.
 
The company proactively and temporarily closed the service station in order to ensure the safety and security of its employees and the general public.

Adnoc Distribution will reopen the station once the situation is under control by the relevant authorities.
 
ADNOC Distribution would like to reassure its customers and the general public that its health, security and safety teams are following up and collaborating very closely with all relevant stakeholders.
