Qatar Play Oman In Asian Beach Handball

Muscat, May 07, 2015- Qatar men’s team will play hosts Oman in their fifth match of Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship at the Sultan Qaboos Stadium here Thursday.
Qatar men are leading the points table with eight after winning all four matches so far. The match is inconsequential for the Maroons as they have qualified for the World Cup in Hungary.
Bahrain will play Iran in the first match tomorrow starting at 7pm.
On Tuesday night, Qatar easily defeated Iran, 2-0 with a scoreline of 22-7, 19-16.
Oman, Bahrain, Pakistan and Iran all have four points with two wins and two losses. Bahrain are ahead on goal difference having scored 178 and conceded 144 goals. Oman are ahead on periods won and lost difference. The hosts have won six periods and lost four for a period difference of two.
Winless Vietnam are at the bottom of the table.
The event features six teams in the men’s section while five teams vie for the top honour in the women’s category.
The Asian Men’s Beach Handball Championship is a qualifying tournament for the next world championship which will be held in Budapest, Hungary in 2016. (QNA)
